Come and see your favorite Disney stories come to life. The kids and I recently saw Disney Live: Worlds of Enchantment at the Honda Center and like always, it was a spectacular show. We’ve seen Disney on Ice shows before and it never lets us down. This time around, the stories that came to life were different. We saw Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, Cars, and Frozen.
We are all fans of the loveable and cute Toy Story movie, so it was really neat how they brought the characters to life. They took you right into the story with you. The characters and background ties everything together and springs to life. It started with the last movie installment, when Andy heads to college and gives away his toys to Sunnyside where they encounter Lotso the Bear and go on a crazy adventure at the pre-school. The kids and I were laughing at the crazy antics the toys were causing. Our favorite part of the show was Ken and Barbie. My daughters loved it because of their ice skating performance. Myself, growing up playing with Barbies, I enjoyed seeing my childhood favorites come to life. If you remember the movie when Ken is trying out outfits for Barbie, well this scene is brought to life by these talented ice skaters. They perform a beautiful duet ice skating. I love watching ice skaters because it’s so beautiful the way they move and dance on ice!
Everybody loved Buzz Light Year, he really is out of this world! The crowd was cheering for Buzz when throughout the show. And let’s not forget about our favorite sheriff, Woody. The voices and scenes were exactly like the movie. Sometimes the characters don’t look alike, but this production was well made with the characters and voices being almost exactly as the original movie.
The next story is one of my favorite films of all time: The Little Mermaid. The moment I heard the marimbas and drums, I knew it was “Under The Sea”. Our grouchy favorite character Sebastian appears along with seahorses. Then bubbles fill the air, taking you deep into the ocean. You will hear some of the movie’s classical hits, such as: “Part of Your World”, “Under The Sea”, and “Kiss The Girl”. It is a very condensed preview of what the actual movies, so only certain events are highlighted. Nevertheless the story is spectacular. Not to mention the beautiful Ariel! The performer used did an excellent job portraying Ariel.
Up next we saw, Cars. My son loves this film! His face lit up when he saw Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen take the ice stage. This story is suited more for the younger audience since the cars can’t really ice skate like humans. But my son was still excited and had fun seeing them drive and swerve on ice.
Last on the ticket was our latest Disney favorite, Frozen. This story turned out to be our household favorite movies. My sister and I love this movie because it shows how true love doesn’t have to be from a man, but a sister. True love comes in any form. You can’t miss the lovable Olaf, the crowd just loves this big cute clumsy snowman. The ladies that played Anna and Elsa were amazing performers. When Elsa took the ice stage and performed her number one hit that everyone sings in the shower, “Let It Go”, she followed along with an amazing performance on ice.
These stories are suitable for all ages, it is a wholesome great entertainment for families to enjoy together. You will not be disappointed.
The venue we attended was the Honda Center. I’ve been to different venues and I really like the Honda Center. It is clean and modern, the ushers are very helpful and nice. The facilities were very clean and fully stocked. The venue also offers several snack bars where you can get anything from nachos, pizza, hot dogs, beer, soda. Not a large selection but sometime to fill your tummy during the show.
During the intermission, you are able to enjoy of some goodies the show has to offer. You can get some cotton candy and get a cute flower hat or Olaf hat. If you decide to get some frozen drinks, you also get in a cute souvenir cup that you can use later at home too. I always like buying things that you can use later.
The kids can also get some lighting wands or toys to use during the show. Even though a bit on the pricey side, but your child will enjoy the lighting effects since it is dark inside of the arena.
TIP: It is cold inside, so make sure you bundle up your little ones with warm clothing. I always take a beanie, scarf, and gloves just in case they get cold. A nice warm jacket and pants should be enough to keep them warm, but just take extra accessories.
Also, please arrive on time to look for your seat and be seated when the show starts. It is very annoying trying to enjoy a show and you get people coming in for 20 minutes in front of you. My little one is small and her view kept getting blocked by late comers. Now I understand things happen, especially traffic, so definitely plan ahead to arrive at least 45 minutes to an hour before the show starts. This should give you ample time to deal with traffic, find parking and then walk into the Honda Center and find your seats. This will also give you time to browse the souvenirs if you decide to buy some for your little ones.
So stroll on over to the Honda Center now through the December 25th and watch some of your favorite Disney stories. If you can’t make it to this venue, check out below for more show dates and times.
