Having three grade schoolers I’m no stranger to lice. They are every parent’s worse nightmare! With lice season being year round, your child can get lice at anytime and from anywhere. There’s a huge misconception that lice come from having poor hygiene. Most of the time it isn’t, lice can be shared from clothing or close head encounters with other children at school or daycare centers. Two years ago my nightmare became a reality one Saturday morning during the start of summer vacation. I started combing my daughter’s hair after a shower and I was terrified to find this little bugs in her hair. Then I went on to check my second daughter and she had some too. At that moment I jumped online and called my mom for advice. Immediately I applied some home-remedies, while I went to the store and bought a head lice treatment. Anyways long story short I spend several hours combing and picking out the lice and nits over a period of a week. Of course they were probably dead after the first treatment, but I was paranoid they would return so continued combing and checking their hair.
For the past month I’ve been using this fantastic and safe hair product for kids, Fairy Tales Rosemary Repel: Lice Prevention. I never knew there were harsh chemicals, pesticides, toxins, paraben, or sulfates free products that prevented lice! I love it! The products are made up of rosemary and for me personally I prefer natural scents, so I love how this smells. My girls don’t mind the smell, they actually think it smells pleasant. As long as they are okay with the smell then that’s good because I’m able to use it on them everyday when I do their hair. The best part of the product is you can also use it on either girl or boy. I use the gel to do my son’s hair because lice don’t discriminate. The gel and hairspray have a great hold that lasts the whole day. When the kids come back from school the products do the trick by keeping their hair in place while repelling those nasty critters. Each product should last you about a month. Since I used it on all three kids, mine lasted less, but it is definitely worth it, especially during school.
The bottle designs are pretty clever and cute: gluten, soy, dairy, and nut free. These products can be safely used on any child, even if they have allergies. They don’t contain any harsh chemicals, pesticides, toxins, paraben, or sulfates. It’s nice to find products that are safe for children. Since we are bombarded daily with products that use all sorts of chemicals, it’s comforting to find these products that are safe. even adults can use them too. If you have a grade schooler then you need this. It’s the best thing to prevent these little critters crawling in your little one’s hair.
My girls don’t have curly hair, but I had my sister try out the Curly-Q: Curl Shapers and it did untangle her curls and define them a bit. Again the scent is pleasant and it is safe to use on any child. If you have curls then this product helps you untangle, tame frizz, and define curls.
