I was recently invited to check out Red Robin’s new bilingual menu and try their new Bee’s Knees Finest Chicken Burger. I chose the Santa Ana location conveniently located across the street from South Coast Plaza. My significant other and I decided to try a few items and share them so that we could give an honest opinion about each item. I have compiled a list I hope you will enjoy that states why I will be returning to Red Robin for another meal.

Top 5 reasons to eat at Red Robin Burgers

Red Robin introduced a variety of dishes for a limited time to celebrate the fall season

Variety, variety, variety

When I first looked through the menu, I was a bit overwhelmed with all the choices but what I soon realized was that there were healthy options like salads and wraps and there was a huge selection of specialty burgers. I wanted to find out how many calories were in each item and there was a  nutritional guide conveniently located at our table which listed all the food and drink options with calories listed for each item.

Sweet with a little heat, this mouth-watering twist on chicken and waffles features an all-natural, crispy, tempura-fried chicken breast glazed in Angry Orchard® honey, spicy jalapeño relish, citrus-marinated tomatoes and onions with shredded romaine on a Belgian waffle bun. The name says it all.

Two perfectly seasoned, fire-grilled patties piled high with creamy Buzz Mac ’N’ Cheese, Pepper-Jack cheese and spicy Buzz ranch sauce on a sesame seed bun. It’s Tavern Double awesomeness served with Bottomless Steak Fries®. $6.99

My date suggested we try a few of the specialty burgers because they looked so delicious and after all, we were at a burger joint known for their burgers so we threw our diet out the window. We first tried the Buzz Mac N’ Cheese Tavern Double which included a double pattie, cheese, and mac n’ cheese inside the burger. It was delicious. It just melted in your mouth and the mac n’ cheese was the winning ingredient.

We then tried the new Bee’s Knees Finest Chicken burger which was a chicken breast inside a waffle bun. It was a bit on the sweet side since it included honey and citrus-marinated tomatoes as part of the ingredients.

Our last item was not a burger, but it was the Arctic cod fish & chips. It came highly recommended from my significant other since he’s been to Red Robin in the past and he mentioned that he always ordered that item because it was so good. Let me just say that he was right! I love chicken and fish in general but this fish was something else! It came in huge pieces and it was very filling but it tasted fresh and filled my taste buds for anything fish. I would definitely order this item again.

What I liked the most about Red Robin was that there are so many items to choose from that you can go over and over again and try something new.

Televisions available for sports night

The night we went to try out the new foods was the night that the Los Angeles Dodgers were facing elimination from the playoffs against the Washington Nationals. It was also the same night that my team, the San Diego Chargers, was playing against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night football. For sports fanatics, Red Robin restaurant is the place to be because they have plenty of televisions at the bar and at the dining tables to watch your favorite sports games. We were able to watch the Chargers vs. Broncos game and if we wanted to we could’ve sat elsewhere to see the Dodgers vs. Nationals game. The restaurant was showing both games.

Angry Orchard Apple Cider and other adult beverages

One thing I noticed about the menu was that there were suggestions as to what drink to have with a particular entrée. For example, for the Bee’s Knees Finest Chicken burger, the menu suggested having Angry Orchard Apple Cider. My significant other and myself love, love, love drinking cider and we never thought it could be paired well with a burger. What a great suggestion! It paired perfectly with our meal. The suggested drink for the fish & chips was a pint of ale. There was also a suggested beer for the Buzz Mac N’ Cheese Tavern Double burger. The apple cider, in our opinion, opted well for all three dinner items. The adult beverage menu listed many beer and wine options as well as mixed drinks. On my list for future tastings are the Red Sangria and the Mai Tai. I always enjoy a good sangria or Mai Tai. It’s great to know that I can look forward to trying out something new every time I have dinner there.

Angry Orchard

Great service

We were greeted with a warm welcome the minute we walked in the door by the hostess. She knew we were there to try out their new burger and check out the bilingual menu so she made it a priority to introduce us to the manager on staff that day. He was very kind and told us he hoped we would enjoy the meal. He even checked on us a few times while we were having dinner. The server was also very kind and although he mentioned to us that he was very busy because he had a few large parties, he still made it a priority to make sure we were okay. It was a busy night when we went perhaps because of the sports games on television, but we never felt that we were neglected.

Endless Steak Fries

So many people keep coming back to Red Robin because of their famous endless steak fries that come with many of their entrees. Basically, if your plate includes fries, they are bottomless. And I can’t fail to mention their Red Robin seasoning that is at every table and famously used on the french fries. I’m certain you can use it for your burgers and other entrees as well, but it is this item that keeps me coming back.

I hope you are able to try Red Robin restaurant for your next date night, family outing or birthday celebration. I’m positive they can accommodate your needs as that it what I observed the night I went. They catered to large parties, people coming in for a quick bite or a drink at the bar and those wanting to dine in and enjoy a nice dinner with their loved ones. And go ahead and bring your mom too… ¡porque el menu ya eta en español! There really is something for everyone at Red Robin.
